Sew Fun...Sew Busy...Sew Loving It

A journal of my sewing projects. I also do custom sewing. Dresses, baby gifts, brother/sister outfits are just a few things I can do! My email address is on the side if you are interested in having something made.

Tote Bags

I made these tote bags for Isaac and Elijah to keep their library books in. I also added a little pocket that velcros shut to keep their library cards in. Isaac has had his eye on this bee fabric for the longest time!

Skirt

Spring fabric was 60% off so I decided to make a nice Springy/summery skirt. It has three tiers (you can't really tell in the pic).

Purple Dress

I know, I know, I know...she really doesn't need any more dresses for this summer! I should be working on her Fall/Winter wardrobe. BUT this cute fabric was only 1.99 a yard!

Sadie's Birthday Dress

I finished this just in time! This dress turned out so much more "princessy" than I envisioned, but I love it! When I put it on her I felt like she should be in a wedding or something.

I've been wanting to experiment with crinoline for awhile, so I thought this would be a good time to use it. (I just realized it's really hard to see in the pic...the crinoline is stiff netting that makes the dress puff out)

Sun Dress

I'm glad I finished this in time to post this month! I don't want to break my nearly two year streak of sewing something every month. Actually, I did make a quilt for my cousin's baby shower earlier this month but forgot to get a picture...

Anyway, I saw this bird fabric and thought it would make a really cute sun dress. I really love the little birds I've been seeing this year on clothes. Sadie wasn't happy about posing, but being a halter dress I couldn't really take get a good pictures of it without her wearing it. Love the ruffly back!

Dress for Sadie

I love this dress! When I was making it, I kept wondering if the prints were maybe a bit too much, but as soon as I put it on her I realized it's perfect! I'm going to try a variation of this pattern with smocking instead of shirring.
