Fairy Dresses

It's time to sew for the Spring musical! This year they are performing The Pinafore Pirates. I have been sewing away on these fairy dresses! So far I have made 3 yellow, 2 blue, and 1 pink.

Cinderella

Sadie LOVES Cinderella, so she has been wanting this dress for awhile. We had a fun time picking out fabric, and I must say she waited patiently for me to finish it.

Possible Easter Dress

This was sort of my own little Project Runway task. I had this little bit of yellow linen, and I challenged myself to see what I could do with it. I turned it into a cute Spring dress. It might even be Sadie's Easter dress.

Circle Skirt

Circle skirts are a great choice for little girls because of the twirl factor. I didn't make the shirt, I just happened to find one that matched this really cute corduroy fabric I already had. Ever since Sadie has started Ballet classes, her modeling has taken on a new level.

Spring Outfit

One of my favorite things to do in the winter is sew for Spring and Summer. This is a two piece outfit (I didn't make the white shirt).

I even learned a new way to do shirring:

Sadie's Valentine Dress

It's that time of year already, time to make a Valentine's Day dress! This year I kept it simple. I bought a shirt from Walmart, and a quarter yard of four different fabrics, all together costing less than $10 bucks.

Tote bags

I made these for a silent auction that will benefit the homeschool music/drama program that two of our boys are in.

Turkey Hats

Our whole family is running in a Turkey Trot this weekend, so I thought it would be fun to wear turkey hats. I figured we can also wear them next week during our monthly visit to the retirement home.

Jonah's hat does fit him, he purposely pulled it over his eyes.

Re-fashioned Shirt.

Awhile back, my friend sent me the link to this blog post. I knew this was something I wanted to try, so I found this shirt at Goodwill for about a buck. I wasn't too concerned about what shirt I found, I knew the first one would mostly be for "practice".

I changed a few things, like adding elastic in the sleeves, and where I placed the ribbon. This is how it turned out:

Also, I learned to make the hairbow using this video.

Hooded capes

I helped with costumes for the homeschool play, The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood. I made a couple more, but these are the only ones I made at home. The play was wonderful, like always. I'm just happy to be able to help out a little.
